And the news everyone has been patiently waiting for… The winner of the Highmark Kettle Contest is This Little Piggy by Angeyln Fisher!! Congratulations, Angelyn! Thank you to everyone who participated!!

The Salvation Army’s traditional red kettle received a facelift. At least 17 of them did, and they were on display Saturday, August 12 at the Charleston Town Center. The Salvation Army designed this campaign to build awareness of year-round need. “People think of The Salvation Army at Christmas when they see our red kettles and hear the bells, but the need is ever present and continuously increasing,” said Major Brooks Gilliam, Charleston Area Commander.

Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of West Virginia signed on as the signature sponsor of the first ever event. Local artists were given creative liberty to give the traditional token a fresh look. Seventeen locals took advantage of the opportunity to put their talents to work. A winner was chosen by the kettle who received the most donations when they are on display Saturday, August 12 in the Starbucks Court in the Charleston Town Center.
